School Holidays End, Only 11 Percent of PELNI Ticket Discount Quota Remains

Jakarta, July 14, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) has recorded significant achievements through its economic stimulus program in the form of a 50 percent ferry ticket discount, which has been running from June 5 through departures until July 31, 2025.

As of July 14, 2025, at 07:00 WIB, ticket sales under the discount program had reached 704,818 tickets, absorbing 89 percent of the total allocated budget of IDR 134 billion.

Passenger realization from June 5 to July 13, 2025, reached 651,187 passengers—an increase of 115 percent compared to the same period last year, which recorded only 564,091 passengers.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Evan Eryanto stated that the program has run smoothly and demonstrated high public interest in sea transportation. “The 50 percent ticket discount program has successfully encouraged public interest in traveling with PELNI ships. During the school holiday period from June 26 to July 13, we recorded the highest passenger volume on June 27, 2025, with a total of 23,152 passengers,” said Evan.

Despite the significant increase in passenger numbers, Evan reaffirmed PELNI’s commitment to maintaining maritime safety and continuing coordination with port authorities to ensure that passenger capacity remains within regulatory limits and prioritizes safety.

“We would like to thank the Ministry of Transportation for its full support in the successful implementation of the economic stimulus through the 50 percent ticket discount. With only 11 percent of the discount quota remaining, we urge the public to take advantage of this opportunity before the tickets run out,” Evan added.

The increase in PELNI passenger numbers under the economic stimulus program reflects the company’s vital role in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s agenda, which includes improving public mobility, promoting tourism and the creative economy sectors, and maintaining people’s purchasing power, especially during the school holiday period.

The 50 percent PELNI ticket discount policy is available across all PELNI ticket purchasing channels, such as the PELNI Mobile app, PELNI website, contact center 162, branch ticket counters, BCA Mobile Lifestyle feature, Sukha by Livin Mandiri, BNI Agen46, BRImo, MyTelkomsel, Indomaret and OMI by Indogrosir network, Alfamart and Alfamidi network, ATA Tour, Fastpay, easybook.com, via.com, MMBC, Darmawisata Indonesia, Versa, and Topindo.

For payments, PELNI has partnered with Bank BTN, BRIVA, BNI Virtual Account, Permata Bank, Mandiri Virtual Account, Indomaret and OMI by Indogrosir, Alfamart and Alfamidi networks, iSaku, Finpay, and Fastpay.
