PELNI Adjusts Cargo Transportation Tariffs Effective July 1, 2026

Jakarta, June 30, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) will implement adjustments to cargo transportation service tariffs on its passenger vessels, effective for bookings made from July 1, 2026. The policy is part of the company's efforts to ensure the sustainability of its cargo transportation services while continuously improving service quality for all customers.

The tariff adjustment does not apply to all service categories. It only covers Dry Container High Cube, Class III Vehicles, General Cargo, and Special General Cargo. Bookings made before July 1, 2026, will remain subject to the previous tariff rates.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda stated that the tariff adjustment is a necessary measure to ensure cargo transportation services continue to operate optimally amid rising operational costs and the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing service quality.

"For PELNI, our priority is not merely delivering cargo to its destination, but also ensuring that the services we provide continue to improve. We are committed to maintaining reliable and secure logistics services that effectively support the distribution of goods across Indonesia," said Ditto.

In line with the tariff adjustment, PELNI continues to enhance its cargo services by ensuring container availability at several ports, improving container depot management standards, and providing customers with easier access to cargo insurance services.

PELNI has also introduced a new cargo service featuring Dry Container High Cube, a container with greater height than a standard 20-foot container, offering increased cargo capacity. In addition, the company has simplified its vehicle classification by merging Class IIIA and Class IIIB vehicles into a single Class III category, allowing both vehicle types to be subject to the same tariff.

For General Cargo services, tariff adjustments are implemented based on the service coverage of each region. Meanwhile, Special General Cargo is a dedicated service for transporting fruits and vegetables using the car decks of KM Dobonsolo and KM Ciremai, enabling better preservation of product quality and freshness through storage in areas with more stable temperatures.

Ditto added that customers, including businesses, may still obtain special rates under the company's applicable policies.

"We continue to provide opportunities for customers to apply for discounted tariffs through coordination with the respective loading branch offices, subject to prevailing regulations. We also encourage customers to make bookings through the MyCargoo! application or PELNI branch offices to ensure a more convenient, faster, and transparent cargo booking process," Ditto added.

He also reminded customers that cargo bookings through the MyCargoo! application open seven days before the vessel's departure (H-7). Booking closing times vary by cargo type: 24 hours before departure for containers, 2 hours before departure for general cargo and vehicles, and 30 minutes before departure for Redpack services.

"For members of the public and business customers seeking further information regarding the tariff adjustments and cargo transportation services, we encourage them to contact the nearest PELNI branch office to obtain complete and accurate information," Ditto concluded.

Through this policy, PELNI hopes to further improve the quality of cargo transportation services on its passenger vessels, support the smooth distribution of national logistics, and continue meeting the needs of communities and businesses throughout Indonesia.
