Ensuring Smooth Return Flow for Eid Homecoming, PELNI Directors Conduct Direct Monitoring in Semarang

Semarang, April 3, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) ensured the smooth flow of the Eid homecoming return (Lebaran 1447 H) by conducting a direct inspection of ship operations aboard KM Lawit, which was docked at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, early Friday morning (3/4).

The monitoring activity was carried out by PELNI’s Director of Passenger Transport Business, Nuraini Dessy, accompanied by Head of PELNI Semarang Branch, Yuniati Fatimah, and Vice President of Commercial Business, Berryl Insanul Firdaus.

This monitoring aimed to directly observe the smoothness of ship operations, service readiness, and passenger conditions during the Eid return period.

“We want to observe the conditions on board in real time so that we can ensure there is no decline in service quality despite the increase in passenger numbers,” said Dessy.

Dessy also added that as of April 2, 2026, ticket sales for PELNI’s Eid transportation had reached 623,237 passengers, or 97.2% of the total projected 641,025 passengers.

“The number of return passengers as of today has reached 306,228 people, with the highest realization recorded on March 30, 2026, totaling 28,243 passengers. This figure reflects the high level of public trust in PELNI’s sea transportation services. We continue to ensure that all fleets operate with a focus on safety first, zero accidents, and service excellence,” she added.

During the activity, Dessy also greeted several passengers who had just boarded KM Lawit. The passengers expressed their gratitude and satisfaction with the 30% transportation discount provided by the Government, particularly the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Head of PELNI Semarang Branch, Yuniati Fatimah, stated that during the Eid transportation period from March 6 to April 2, 2026, the number of PELNI passengers in Semarang reached 27,427, consisting of 9,188 embarking passengers and 18,239 disembarking passengers.

“Tonight, there were 233 disembarking passengers and 1,400 embarking passengers on KM Lawit. The relatively high number of embarking passengers indicates that Semarang remains one of the main gateways for return flows in Central Java. We continue to ensure that service and safety run smoothly on the ground,” said Yuni.

Through optimal operational readiness, PELNI remains committed to maintaining the highest service standards in national sea transportation, ensuring that people can undertake their Eid return journeys for Lebaran 1447 H safely, comfortably, and smoothly.
