PELNI Successfully Provides Agency Services for Bahamas-Flagged Cruise Ship MV Odyssey in Indonesia

Jakarta, May 19, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero), through its ship agency services, successfully supported the operations of the cruise ship MV Odyssey during its stay in Indonesia. The cruise ship, measuring 24,344 Gross Tonnage (GT), 194 meters in length, and carrying 274 passengers, first entered Indonesian waters through Komodo Island on April 25, 2026, after sailing from Dili, Timor-Leste.

During its voyage in Indonesia, MV Odyssey called at several ports, including Benoa Port in Denpasar, Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, and Tanjung Mas Port in Semarang. To ensure smooth vessel operations, PELNI provided full port agency services covering vessel documentation processing with relevant authorities, tour package arrangements for Komodo Island, and shuttle bus services for passengers in Surabaya and Semarang.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda stated that PELNI’s support for MV Odyssey strengthens the company’s role in supporting the national maritime tourism industry while demonstrating PELNI’s readiness to provide professional ship agency services for both domestic and international vessels, particularly cruise ships.

“We are ready to provide comprehensive support, ranging from document processing and vessel operational needs to hospitality services for passengers, ensuring that international cruise ship activities while in Indonesia run smoothly, safely, and on schedule,” said Ditto.

In addition to operational services, PELNI also collaborated with PT Lamong Energi Indonesia (LEGI) in handling the disposal of 400 tons of greywater from MV Odyssey at Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang, as part of its support for vessel operations in accordance with service standards and environmental management practices at ports.

Ditto also added that PELNI will continue strengthening its capabilities and service quality to become a reliable partner for international vessels at various Indonesian ports.

“As a national shipping company, PELNI continues to strengthen its full port agency services, logistics services, and international vessel operations at ports across Indonesia. We are ready to become a strategic partner for the cruise industry in supporting the government’s targets for tourism development and the national economy,” Ditto added.

PELNI is committed to becoming a reliable strategic partner in supporting all international shipping activities in Indonesia. PELNI will continue developing professional and efficient agency services to strengthen Indonesia’s role as an increasingly competitive maritime nation in Southeast Asia.
