Supporting Environmental Conservation, PELNI’s CSR Program Conducts Mangrove Planting and Beach Cleanup

Cirebon, December 27, 2024 — PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) carried out a mangrove planting and beach cleanup activity along the southern coast of Kesunean Beach, Cirebon, on Friday (27/12). This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aims to support the preservation of coastal ecosystems, reduce the impact of erosion, and raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness.

A total of 2,000 mangrove seedlings were planted in strategically selected coastal areas, involving 150 participants from the local community. The event was attended by PELNI’s Vice President of Treasury Fauziah Ferryna, Cirebon City Secretary Iing Daiman, representatives from the Cirebon City Environmental Agency, Nusantara Volunteers, environmental communities, and several local community leaders in Cirebon.

Vice President of Treasury Fauziah Ferryna stated that this initiative aims to deliver a positive impact on environmental cleanliness. “This activity reflects PELNI’s commitment to playing an active role in environmental conservation. Through this CSR program, we hope to make a positive impact on coastal ecosystems while also increasing public awareness of the importance of cleanliness and environmental sustainability,” she said.

In addition to planting mangroves, participants also engaged in beach cleanup activities, collecting waste that could harm the surrounding environment. This initiative not only aims to maintain beach cleanliness but also educates the community on the importance of preserving nature for future generations.

PELNI is committed to continuing CSR programs that benefit the community and the environment while setting an example as a responsible company in environmental conservation and supporting sustainable development.
