PELNI’s Economic Stimulus Ticket Quota Sold Out, Supporting the School Holiday Season

Jakarta, July 22, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) announced that the 50 percent ticket discount quota under the economic stimulus program has officially sold out as of July 21, 2025, well before the program’s scheduled end on July 31, 2025.

Based on operational data, a total of 782,011 tickets were sold for departures between June 5 and July 31, 2025. This marks 100 percent absorption of the allocated budget of IDR 134 billion.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Evan Eryanto stated that the program ran smoothly and demonstrated high public interest in sea transportation.

“We are very grateful for the public’s strong enthusiasm toward this economic stimulus program. It serves as clear evidence of the public’s trust in PELNI as the backbone of maritime connectivity, driving both the national economy and tourism,” said Evan.

Evan also noted that the highest passenger volume occurred on June 25, 2025, with a total of 26,639 passengers. Despite the significant rise in passengers, Evan emphasized PELNI’s commitment to prioritizing maritime safety by ensuring strict compliance with vessel operational standards.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of Transportation for its full support of the economic stimulus program through the 50 percent ticket discount. This support has enabled us to broaden public access to safe and affordable sea transportation while enhancing interregional connectivity,” Evan added.

PELNI’s success in this economic stimulus program highlights the company’s vital role in realizing the goals promoted by President Prabowo Subianto, which include increasing public mobility, boosting the tourism and creative economy sectors, and maintaining household purchasing power, especially during the school holiday period.

PELNI remains committed to supporting the government’s vision by strengthening interregional connectivity across Indonesia, promoting domestic tourism, and expanding public access to safe and affordable maritime transport.
