Padang, 1 May 2023 - - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) is present for the people of the Mentawai Islands Regency through KM Belt Nusantara (Sanus) 68. KM Sanus 68 is recorded to have a passenger carrying capacity of up to 500 people.

Main Commissioner of PT PELNI (Persero) Ali Masykur Musa directly observed the service conditions of KM Sanus 68 at Teluk Bayur Port, Padang, Monday (1/5). Ali Masykur Musa emphasized to the ship's officers to maintain and improve the quality of safety, cleanliness and comfort.

"This is what is very important to pay attention to. Because it (safety, cleanliness & comfort of the ship) will make PELNI very attractive to people who take sea voyages to the Mentawai Islands Regency," said Ali Masykur Musa.

Ali Masykur Musa also gave appreciation to the ship's officers for the service provided to passengers which was very good, but still had to be improved. In line with what was conveyed by Ali Masykur Musa, the Coordinator of Terminal Point Padang PT PELNI Warimun ensured that his party would continue to improve services and ship needs in order to provide comfort for passengers.

"We will always continue to support ship needs and services. In fact, we are also firm to stay on time, "said Warimun.

The same thing was conveyed by the Captain of the Sanus 68 Capt. Pujianto, which is committed to always providing the best possible service and meeting the needs of ship facilities.

"This is our commitment, so that PELNI is the only transportation that people choose when traveling by sea," said Capt. Pujianto.

KM Sanus 68 serves routes, especially in the waters of the Mentawai Islands Sea in West Sumatra. With the Bayur Bay cruise route - Labuhan Bajau - Sikabaluan - Muara Saibi - Siberut - Mabukkuk - Tua Pejat - Penasahan - Teluk Bayur.

On its voyage to the port of Labuhan Bajau, KM Sanus 68 carried 386 passengers from the Mentawai Islands Regency. The surrounding community has greatly benefited from the existence of KM Sanus 68 and are satisfied with the services and facilities provided by PELNI. This was conveyed by one of the passengers on KM Sanus 68 named Ratna.
"No complaints, the facilities are good, full AC," he said.

In addition, the ticket price is also quite cheap according to the distance traveled. For very long distances, ticket prices are priced at Rp. 24,500 and the shortest distance is Rp. 14,500.
"Ticket prices are very cheap and very affordable by the public, the service is very good, the crew members are friendly. Anyway, it's very good, and really needed to make a cruise to the Mentawai," added Ratna.

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 71 ports.

Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 42 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 273 ports with a total of 3,495 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
