Transport Discount Quota Fully Sold Out, PELNI Successfully Serves 467 Thousand Passengers
Jakarta, April 4, 2026 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) recorded that its 30% sea transportation discount program was fully sold out ahead of the scheduled period. Ticket sales for the discounted fares, which opened on February 11, 2026 for departures between March 11 and April 5, 2026, were officially closed on Friday (April 3).
The total number of passengers benefiting from the discount reached 467,662, or 105% of the initial projection of 445,534 passengers.
PELNI President Director Tri Andayani, also known as Anda, explained that the realization exceeding projections was influenced by ticket sales on shorter routes.
“Alhamdulillah, the 30% transportation discount program provided by the Government has received a positive response from the public. The quota being fully utilized by April 3, 2026 proves that this program greatly helps people travel for the Eid homecoming at more affordable costs,” said Anda.
She also added that as of April 4, 2026, total national ticket sales for the departure period of March 11 to April 5, 2026 reached 487,905 tickets, or 101.8% compared to the same period last year, which recorded 479,133 tickets.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the public who have taken advantage of this program. We also thank the Government, particularly the Ministry of Transportation, for entrusting this program to PELNI. PELNI will continue to support government policies in providing affordable and high-quality sea transportation access for the Indonesian people,” she added.
Anda further emphasized that although the number of return passengers has started to decline, PELNI remains committed to serving all passengers wholeheartedly until the Eid transportation period officially ends on April 6, 2026.
“Once again, we thank all passengers who have sailed with PELNI ships during this year’s Eid transportation period. We look forward to welcoming you again in the next Eid homecoming season, and we hope to continue delivering better, safer, and more comfortable services for all our customers,” Anda concluded.
Although the transport discount quota has been fully utilized, PELNI remains committed to delivering optimal service by prioritizing safety first, zero accidents, and service excellence for all passengers who will continue to travel using PELNI’s fleet.
