Assuring the Smooth Flow of Homecoming to Return, PELNI Issues Pioneer Vessel Schedules on

Surabaya, 11 April 2023 - - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) guarantees that pioneer ship services in the East Java region during the Eid 2023 transportation period will run smoothly. In fact, to anticipate a surge in homecoming travelers, PT PELNI with permission from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has made adjustments to ship routes.

PT PELNI's Director of Passenger Transport Business Yahya Kuncoro asked the people of East Java, especially pioneer ship users to seek information about pioneer ship schedules to PELNI branch offices and the nearest port. "We have issued the schedule for the three pioneer ships serving East Java for the period of homecoming and return flows to provide certainty to people who definitely want to celebrate Eid in their respective hometowns," Yahya said while monitoring the 2023 Eid Transport at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya , last Monday (10/4).

Yahya added that to anticipate a surge in travelers using pioneer ships in the East Java region, PT PELNI had discussed with the Ministry of Transportation and it had been agreed to make route adjustments in the Masalembu Islands area.

There are three pilot ships serving the Masalembu Islands and their surroundings, namely KM Belt Nusantara 91, 92 and 99. The schedule that has been approved by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation and issued by PT PELNI regulates the schedule for the homecoming period from 11 April to 10 May 2023. PT PELNI will continue to update the next schedule and inform users of pioneer ship services.

Following are the adjustments to the pioneer ship routes serving the Masalembu Islands:

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 71 ports.

Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 42 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 273 ports with a total of 3,495 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
