Not only at branch office counters, non-cash payments can also be made by customers when purchasing tickets through the PELNI Mobile Apps website and application.

"Payment by this method is not only practical but also can provide a sense of security to customers because they do not have to carry large amounts of cash which is prone to crime," he explained.
The digital innovation made by this company is also an effort to enforce health protocols in support of the Government's efforts to reduce direct contact during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, through cashless payments, PELNI can serve customers more effectively and quickly in the ship ticket purchase process. "The cashless payment method will also make it easier for companies to monitor and minimize the potential for fraud in operations. All counters at branches have been provided with EDC machines to support the implementation of non-cash payments," added Opik Taupik.
In line with this digital innovation, PELNI has also made a transformation in terms of selling boat tickets by presenting the PELNI Mobile Apps application. The application, which has been launched since 2018, is one of the choices for customers to get boat tickets. "Customers no longer need to go to the counter to get PELNI ship tickets. The company has provided the PELNI Mobile Apps platform and the official website www.pelni.co.id which can be accessed anywhere and anytime with the support of non-cash payment services, "he added.
PELNI continues to invite customers to be able to take advantage of the available digital platforms to obtain boat tickets to provide convenience and speed of service to all customers in Indonesia.
Ship customers can also take advantage of the PELNI 162 contact center WhatsApp service at 0811-162-1-162 to find out the schedule and order boat tickets. "The entire contact center team is on standby 24 hours to answer customer needs," concluded Opik Taupik.
PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise which is engaged in sea transportation has currently operated 26 passenger ships and stopped at 76 ports and served 1,058 sections.
In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 45 pioneer ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area where pioneer ships stop at 285 ports with 3,811 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 20 Rede ships. Meanwhile, in logistics business services, PELNI now operates 9 sea toll routes and 1 special route for livestock transportation.
