Surabaya, January 4, 2023 - - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) has succeeded in exceeding the production target of the Sea Highway cargo in 2022. For 2023, PELNI has increased the Sea Highway cargo target to 21 percent from last year's target.
PT PELNI's director of freight transport and sea toll roads, Yossianis Marciano, said that sea toll production in 2022 from January to December 31 reached 14,508 TEUs or 115.86 percent above the target of 12,521 TEUs.
"For 2023, with the support of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Trade and the regional government, we are optimistic about increasing the target to 21 percent from last year's target," said Yossianis or who is familiarly called Yossi during the Loading of the First Sea Highway Ship at Tanjung Perak Port. Surabaya, Wednesday (4/1).
Apart from Yossi, the Loading of the First Shipping of the Sea Highway Ship onboard the Kendhaga Nusantara 7 ship was also attended by a number of stakeholders such as the Director of Sea Traffic of the Ministry of Transportation Hendri Ginting, Special Staff of the Minister of Transportation for Relations between Institutions Maj. Gen. TNI Mar (Purn) Buyung Lalana, Expert Staff Minister of Transportation for Maritime and Maritime Transportation Services Andre Mulpyana.
The cargo of KM Kendhaga Nusantara 7 itself on this maiden voyage was fully loaded to serve the Surabaya - Larantuka - Lewoleba - Kalabahi - Surabaya route. The cargo transported generally contains necessities such as rice, flour, sugar, oil and other important goods.
PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 76 ports.
Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 44 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 281 ports with a total of 3,695 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
