PELNI Ready to Operate KM Logistics Nusantara 6
Surabaya, January 17, 2020 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) is ready to operate KM Logistik Nusantara (Lognus) 6 which will be used specifically to carry cargo on the sea highway program.
Head of Corporate Secretariat PT PELNI (Persero), Yahya Kuncoro said that non-new cargo ships purchased by the Company could carry a load of up to 400 TEUs. "This ship will carry cargo via the Tg. Perak - Tidore - Buli - Maba - Weda route," explained Yahya.
PELNI as one of the operators of the Sea Toll Road continues to show its role in providing the best service for the entire community up to remote areas of the country, especially for the Disadvantaged, Remote, Frontier and Border areas (T3P). The Sea Toll carried out by PELNI is regular or permanent direct shipping in accordance with assignments set by the government.
The operation of the Sea Toll by PELNI has specific assignments, such as reducing price disparity with target indicators including the distribution of logistics to Disadvantaged, Remote, Frontier and Border areas (3TP) areas and the availability of goods to reduce price disparities in order to improve the welfare of the community.
"With the operation of KM Lognus 6, PELNI has operated as many as 8 ships that are used in the sea highway program. So we hope to be able to benefit all Indonesian people and be able to contribute more to the price disparsity program," he said.
Until now, PELNI has operated 8 sea toll routes consisting of KM Logistik Nusantara 1, KM Logistik Nusantara 2, KM Logistik Nusantara 3, KM Logistik Nusantara 4, KM Logistik Nusantara 6, KM Kendagha Nusantara 1, KM Kendagha Nusantara 7 and KM Kendhaga Nusantara 11.
