Promoting Business Sustainability, PELNI Wins ESG Award from SBM ITB

Jakarta, February 8, 2025 – PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) has received the ESG Award Anugerah Avirama Nawasena, organized by the School of Business and Management of ITB, for the category of Sustainable Product Innovation. The award was presented by SBM ITB Lecturer Sonny Rustiadi, MBA, Ph.D., to Balan Aji Bramantyo, ESG Management Manager, in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 5).

The award presentation was witnessed by ITB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., Dean of SBM ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ignatius Pulung Nurprasetio, M.SME., and PELNI Vice President Tatang Ruskianta Dasuki.

The Anugerah Avirama Nawasena 2024 is an annual event that honors companies, SMEs, and organizations recognized for successfully developing innovations and driving Indonesia towards a sustainable future economy. The three core values of this award include creating low-carbon economic growth, achieving efficient natural resource use, and realizing social inclusion.

PELNI’s Director of Finance and Risk Management, Anik Hidayati, expressed gratitude for the appreciation and attention given by SBM ITB for the ESG management conducted at PELNI. This award proves that PELNI has prioritized sustainability in its business and operational management.

"This award reminds us to remain consistent in running our business and operations while considering and aligning environmental, social, and governance aspects," said Anik.

In his welcoming speech, ITB Rector Prof. Tata emphasized that the award comes with great expectations for Indonesia. “It must be realized that we are moving together. Hopefully, this award will strengthen our commitment to creating a greener, fairer, and more sustainable future,” said the Rector of ITB to the award recipients.

PELNI, as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in the shipping services industry, currently operates 25 passenger ships serving 511 routes with 1,359 routes and calling at 74 ports.

In addition to passenger transport, PELNI also serves 30 pioneer ship routes that provide accessibility for the mobility of the population in the 3TP (Three Outer Islands, Disadvantaged Regions, and Remote Areas), with pioneer ships calling at 230 ports on a total of 522 routes.
