Jakarta, 21 April 2020 - As one step in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) has required all prospective passengers who will travel on PELNI ships to include COVID -Health certificates free -19 issued by hospitals or official health workers.
PT PELNI (Persero) 's Chief Corporate Secretary, Yahya Kuncoro said that PT PELNI (Persero) continues to try to break the COVID - 19 distribution chain by implementing health protocols in accordance with Government directives. As a concrete action, the Company has enacted this regulation starting on April 20, 2020. "Management takes this policy as one of the anticipatory steps to deploy COVID-19 on the ship. We hope all prospective passengers can submit a letter so they can travel with us," he explained.
To support implementation, Management will also inform the Regional Government about this policy and disseminate information regarding the application of the COVID-19 free certificate to the entire community and all travel agents who sell PELNI ship tickets in Indonesia.
In addition to implementing these rules, in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and create space so that physical distances can be made during the trip, since 4 April 2020 PELNI management has taken the decision to sell tickets a maximum of 50% of the installed seat capacity on each ship.
