Welcoming HPN 2021, PELNI Invites Passengers to Enjoy First Class Cruises

This is the Company's appreciation to customers who make PELNI ships the main transportation

Jakarta, September 4, 2021 - Welcoming National Customer Day which falls on September 4, 2021, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) provides a first-class taste cruise experience for lucky passengers. Selected customers get experience sailing using first-class facilities on the KM Kelud cruise, Friday (3/9) with the route from Jakarta to Medan.

VP of Marketing for Passenger Transportation of PT PELNI Sukendra explained that this is a form of the Company's appreciation to customers who make PELNI ships the main means of transportation. "In this year's HPN celebration, some lucky customers we provide additional services from economy class to first class. Hopefully this will be a memorable sailing experience and not be forgotten," said Sukendra.

In addition, selected customers also have the opportunity to get to know more about the safety facilities owned by PELNI ships. "Completing the services provided, we provide on board tour facilities by visiting special areas that can only be accessed by ship crews. Including introducing navigational tools and ship safety. This information is expected to increase customer confidence sailing with PELNI ships," he added.

As a shipping company in Indonesia, PELNI always strives to provide improved services to customers who are now adjusting to the digital era. After providing vending machine services at 10 ports of departure, PELNI has implemented an e-ticketing system and is currently developing a barcode system for ship tickets. "In the future, passengers just need to show their ticket barcode via their respective cellphones so that the potential for lost tickets or damaged tickets can be avoided," said Sukendra.

Not only that, Sukendra explained that another innovation that is being developed by PELNI is by presenting application services to make it easier for ship customers to place food orders during the voyage. PELNI is also developing a system to integrate ship tickets with other means of transportation when PELNI ship passengers arrive at the port of destination. "This service innovation is here to make it easier and more comfortable for all PELNI ship customers," he explained.

Service to customers is also realized through several facilities such as the PELNI dapoer, gym room, jogging area, prayer room. In addition, there are also several rooms that can be used as MICE locations (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise which is engaged in sea transportation to date has operated as many as 26 passenger ships and stopped at 76 ports and served 1,058 segments.

In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 45 pioneer ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where pioneer ships stop at 285 ports with 3,811 segments. PELNI also operates 16 Rede vessels. While in logistics business services, PELNI now operates 9 sea toll routes and 1 special route for livestock transportation.
