First Wave of Free Motorcycle Homecoming Travelers Released by Indonesian Minister of Transportation
Jakarta, April 5, 2024 -- PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) transported 2,037 motorcycle travelers and 876 motorcycles on the PELNI ship KM Dobonsolo from Jakarta to Semarang, Friday (5/4). The travelers participating in the Free Motorcycle Homecoming Travel were released by the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and PELNI President Director Tri Andayani.

PELNI President Director Tri Andayani, familiarly called Anda, expressed her gratitude to the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation for once again trusting PELNI by providing the assignment of free homecoming for motorcycle travelers.
"For this year, the motorcycle homecoming activity, thank God, went smoothly and the quota reached the target. We hope that the travelers can enjoy this voyage and arrive at their hometowns safely and can immediately gather with their families," said Anda.
The travelers departed from Tanjung Priok Port, Friday (5/4) at 16.00 WIB and will arrive at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, Sunday (6/4) tomorrow at around 07.00 WIB. Upon arrival in Semarang, the travelers will continue their journey to their respective cities by motorbike.
Anda added that the homecoming trip using the PELNI ship has at least saved energy and minimized the risk on the journey between Jakarta and Semarang if taken by land.
"At least upon arrival in Semarang, the travelers are closer to their hometowns, and we all hope that they can arrive safely and celebrate Eid happily and meaningfully," added Anda.
KM Dobonsolo will again transport travelers from Jakarta to Semarang on Sunday (7/4) tomorrow. There were 2,457 homecoming travelers and 1,009 motorbikes registered on that date. Meanwhile, for the return flow, KM Dobonsolo will depart from Semarang to Jakarta on April 13 and 15, 2024.
