Jakarta, 5 April 2020 - In supporting and assisting the mobilization of medical personnel in handling COVID-19, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia - PT PELNI (Persero) together with two of its subsidiaries, namely PT SBN and PT PIDC, provide bus fleet facilities as shuttle transportation for medical personnel who work at PELNI Hospital, Jakarta.
The Head of the Corporate Secretariat of PT PELNI (Persero), Yahya Kuncoro said that the synergy carried out by the PELNI Group was a form of care and support for medical personnel working at PELNI Hospital. "Currently, one of PELNI's subsidiaries engaged in the field of health (PELNI Hospital) has been appointed by the government as one of the referral hospitals in handling COVID-19 in Jakarta. We all hope that with the help of this transportation can facilitate the movement of medical personnel from and heading to the hospital, "Terang Yahya.
Shuttle transportation assistance for PELNI Hospital medical personnel is also intended to prevent transmission of COVID-19 that might occur if PELNI Hospital medical personnel use public transportation and give medical staff time to rest during the trip. "As a frontline in handling COVID-19, medical staff must also pay attention to the condition of the body in order to stay in shape when treating patients," he added.
PT PELNI Hospital is a subsidiary of PT PELNI (Persero) which operates in the health sector. Since March 16, 2020, PELNI Hospital has been designated as one of the COVID-19 referral hospitals in Jakarta and has provided 100 rooms dedicated to treating PDP patients and COVID-19 positive patients.
PELNI is a State-Owned Enterprise that operates in the field of sea transportation which currently operates as many as 26 passenger ships and visits 83 ports and serves 1,100 parts. PELNI also serves 45 pioneer ship routes that serve as a means of accessibility for population mobility in the T3P area where pioneer vessels stop at 275 ports with 3,739 parts.
