PELNI’s KM Dorolonda Experiences Incident While in Dry Dock, Cause Still Under Investigation
Jakarta, August 11, 2025 – KM Dorolonda, a vessel owned by PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero), which is currently undergoing annual maintenance at PT Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari (DKB) shipyard in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, has reportedly experienced an incident, with visible smoke observed on Monday (08/11).
PELNI Corporate Secretary Evan Eryanto stated that DKB, as the party responsible for the dock area, is currently working together with the fire department to handle the situation as effectively as possible.
“Our main focus right now is to support the firefighting efforts being intensively carried out by the DKB team on site. We are not yet in a position to confirm the exact cause of the fire, as the incident occurred while KM Dorolonda was still at the DKB shipyard. We hope that the situation can be resolved quickly and effectively, with minimal damage,” said Evan.
