Jakarta, 20 April 2020 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) together with the Health Office and the Tanjung Priok Port Health Service (KKP) conduct health checks and rapid tests for all KM Nggapulu crews who arrived on Monday (20 / 4) at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta.
PT PELNI (Persero) 's Chief Corporate Secretary, Yahya Kuncoro explained that based on the test results, there were 16 crew members who showed reactive results. Now 16 people have been taken to the PELNI Hospital for further examination.
"In accordance with the health protocol in preventing the spread of COVID-19, all ship officers arriving at the Port will be examined for health. Today inspection of all crew members of the KM Nggapulu ship and 16 people have been referred to the hospital for further examination. We are still waiting for the results of other crew members, "Yahya said.
At present, all crews undergo independent isolation on board with supervision from Management, port authorities, and CTF. Yahya said that all officers would be on standby and monitor the health of the entire crew during independent isolation. KM Nggapulu sailed from Surabaya before arriving at Tanjung Priok Port.
Management also plans to quarantine and stay at the port for 14 days as a follow up to the results of the health checks of all crew members. The port stay period will be adjusted later according to the situation and conditions. "While the ship is waiting at the port, we hope that all crew can use the time to rest, exercise and continue to adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle to enhance immunity in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," Yahya said.
