Jakarta, 28 April 2023 - - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) ensures that the Eid 2023 transportation service has run according to the Government's expectations. A total of 511,705 people were recorded as traveling on PELNI ships during the Eid transportation period from 7 to 28 April 2023.

This was conveyed by the Main Director of PT PELNI (Persero) Tri Andayani during the visit of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi and Deputy Minister of BUMN II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo to the PELNI Headquarters in Jakarta, Friday (28/4). The arrival of the two at the same time inspected the operation control center or operation room of PT PELNI's Eid transport.

PT PELNI's Operation Room which is connected to the satellite allows the control room to monitor the whereabouts of all PELNI ships consisting of 26 passenger ships, 42 pioneer ships and 9 cargo ships for 24 hours straight.

"From this control room, we can see where the ship is and monitor the situation in all corners of the ship with CCTV installed. With existing technology, we are connected to the ship in real time, so we can make quick and accurate decisions when needed," Anda said. , Tri Andayani's nickname.

A total of 2,560 motorbikes and 6,259 motorbike travelers were transported by KM Dobonsolo on two round trips from Jakarta to Semarang (15 and 17 April) and two trips on the return route from Semarang to Jakarta (25 and 28 April).

The Ministry of Transportation also assigned the same ship to assist motorbike travelers crossing from Ciwandan, Banten to Panjang Lampung and vice versa. This assignment was carried out to reduce the queues of travelers crossing via Merak Harbor to Bakauheni.

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in shipping services currently operates 26 Passenger Ships serving 1,058 sections and visiting 71 ports.

Apart from passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 42 Pioneer Ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in the 3TP area, where Pioneer Ships stop at 273 ports with a total of 3,495 sections. PELNI also operates as many as 16 Rede Ships. For logistics business services, currently PELNI operates 10 Sea Highway routes and 1 special route for Livestock Vessels.
