PELNI Helps Flood Affected Victims in North Jakarta Region
Jakarta, 3 January 2020 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) took part in the Joint Posko BUMN to assist in handling floods in the Greater Jakarta area. PELNI along with 5 other SOEs helped flood-affected communities in the North Jakarta area by delivering a number of assistance.
The delivery of aid was symbolically carried out on Friday afternoon (3/1) at the North Jakarta Mayor's Office. Present to represent the Company, the Head of DPA SMK3LH Capt. Yanto Duriyanto and assistance received directly by the North Jakarta Economic and Development Assistant, Suroto.
The Head of Corporate Secretary of PT PELNI (Persero), Yahya Kuncoro said that PELNI provided logistical assistance and cleaning tools to assist the community in restoring their environment. "Today (3/1) PELNI along with 5 other SOEs that help the North Jakarta region deliver a number of aid and have been symbolically received by Mr. Suroto as Assistant for the Economy and Development of North Jakarta," he explained.
"The SOE Ministry formed a cross-country SOE team under the coordination of BNPB. PELNI together with Pegadaian, Pertamina, PGN, Pelindo II, and BKI joined in helping flood victims in the North Jakarta area. PELNI itself sent logistical assistance in the form of fast food, mineral water, instant noodles along with cleaning tools, "explained Yahya.
"PELNI hopes that receiving assistance from PELNI and other SOEs will help the community in the process of handling and meeting the needs of flood-affected communities that hit the Jabodetabek area, especially North Jakarta," concluded Yahya.
