Jakarta, August 10, 2021 - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) again urges all travelers on PELNI ships to complete travel requirements documents and comply with health protocols during the voyage. This appeal is in response to the Government's policy of extending the period of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) until August 16.
PT PELNI Public Relations, Institutional, & CSR Manager Idayu Adi Rahajeng said that passengers who travel across regions with the application of different PPKM levels must meet the provisions of travel requirements in areas that apply the highest level of PPKM. "Each local government has different regulations and must be obeyed by PELNI ship passengers in the context of implementing this PPKM," he added.
Idayu added that the provisions for traveling with PELNI ships still refer to the SE of the Ministry of Transportation Number 59 of 2021 and the SE of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 16 of 2021. Just like the previous PPKM period, to travel with the PELNI ship all prospective passengers are required to show a vaccination certificate at a minimum stage first. If the passenger has not vaccinated for medical reasons, it must be proven by a certificate from a specialist.
In addition, it is mandatory to include a certificate of negative PCR Test results with a sampling period of 2 x 24 hours or negative results of rapid antigen tests whose samples are taken within a maximum period of 1 x 24 hours before departure. All passengers are also required to fill out the e-HAC Indonesia application and always comply with the entry requirements for the port of destination.
"The travel document will be verified by the local Port Health Office. If there is a violation of the validity of the travel document, it will be the responsibility of the passenger as the traveler," he said.
For information, during the PPKM period that was implemented from July 3, 2021 to August 9, 2021 yesterday, the Company noted that it was still able to carry a total of 131,719 passengers with a fleet of passenger and pioneer ships. Idayu detailed that 115,363 passengers had been transported by passenger ship and 16,356 had been transported by pioneer ship.
During the cruise, all passengers are required to comply with the 6M health protocol (wear masks, wash hands with soap in running water, maintain distance, stay away from crowds, limit mobility and avoid eating together). "We also urge passengers to use medical masks correctly, which covers the nose and mouth area and reduce communication activities either in person or by telephone," he appealed.
