Jakarta, 20 April 2020 - As one of the mandatory health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) - PT PELNI (Persero) together with KKP Tg. Priok and the local health officials conducted a medical examination and rapid diagnostic test (RDT) of the 86 KM Bukit Raya crew. The ship arrived on Monday morning (4/20) at Tg. Priok, Jakarta.
Head of the Corporate Secretariat of PT PELNI (Persero), Yahya Kuncoro said, the ship had previously sailed from Pontianak Harbor on Saturday (18/4) to Tg. Priok "This morning the health examination and RDT were carried out on 86 KM Raya Raya crew. Based on the test results, 84 crew were declared negative, while 2 other crew members showed reactive test results. Now both of them have been referred to COVID -19 Emergency Hospital for medical treatment. "Yahya explained.
As a follow up to the health check, 2 crew members also did a wipe examination. Yahya added that Management will continue to monitor the healthy development of KM Bukit Raya crew, especially two people who are currently being referred to hospitals and will await the results of their second stroke examination.
KM Bukit Raya is planned to quarantine and stay overnight at Tg. Priok While the ship is waiting at the port, according to the COVID-19 distribution prevention protocol, as many as 84 Raya Raya Raya crews will undergo independent isolation with strict supervision and continue to implement a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS).
"During the implementation of independent isolation, Management will oversee the activity patterns and rest patterns of the entire crew. We will also provide a multivitamin to boost immunity in the midst of the COVID-19 situation," Yahya added.
In addition, following up on the healthy development of a KM Bukit Raya crew member who was being treated at a hospital in Tanjung Pinang, Yahya confirmed the truth of the news of the crew's death. Previously, based on the results of the examination that was received on Friday (17/4), the person concerned was tested positive for COVID-19.
"The news of his death is certainly surprising for PELNI Management. We can say that he has been undergoing treatment since Saturday (11/4) with initial conditions in the throat and an increase in body temperature. Before being tested positive for COVID-19, he also has other congenital diseases," explained Yahya
Previously, he was referred to one of the hospitals after the results of a medical examination and rapid tests conducted by the Tanjung Pinang KKP showed that ABK was indicated as a patient under surveillance (PDP). "Management continues to monitor the development of his health, to this day he is declared dead," concluded Yahya.
KM Bukit Raya is one of the vessels owned by PT PELNI (Persero) with a capacity of 1000 pax. The ship serves the route Tg.Priok - Blinyu - Kijang - Letung - Tarempa - Natuna - Midai - Serasan - Pontianak - Surabaya - Pontianak - Serasan - Midai - Natuna - Tarempa - Letung - Kijang - Blinyu - Tg.Priok.
