Improving Logistics Business, PELNI Collaborates with Angkasa Pura Logistics

PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Angkasa Pura Logistik regarding the transportation of goods for airports and seaports.

Jakarta, August 26, 2022 – In order to improve the Company's logistics business, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia or PT PELNI (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Angkasa Pura Logistik regarding the Transportation of Goods for Airports and Seaports. The signing was carried out by the Director of the Sea Toll and Goods Transportation Business of PT PELNI Yossianis Marciano with the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Logistik Danny P. Thaharsyah at KM Kelud, Tanjung Priok Port, Friday (26/8).

Yossianis said that today's collaboration is the first step to cooperate in logistics services, especially to increase the competitiveness of logistics services for each party. “This is the first time for PELNI to collaborate with AP Logistics, it is hoped that this collaboration will be able to increase value for the Company. Furthermore, this collaboration can provide convenience for the Indonesian people in terms of sea and air logistics services," he said.

The scope of this memorandum of understanding includes:
Agency cooperation for the transportation of multi-commodity goods based on passenger ships, cargo ships, pioneer ships and sea highways (general cargo, redpack/retail, containers, motorized vehicles).
Air cargo transportation cooperation owned by PT PELNI through all PT AP Logistik branch offices.
Cooperation in transportation management services and agency delivery/transportation of goods using land & air transportation modes in the PT AP Logistik Branch Office area for pickup and delivery of cargo in all branches where the business activities of each company are.
Cooperation in the delivery/transportation of project cargo that requires special handling in the execution of the work, by not closing the possibility of an aircraft and/or ship leasing process at the time of its implementation.
Cooperation in the use of building assets and the like.
Marketing development with cooperation to expand the marketing area.
Other business potential to be agreed later.

"Currently PELNI operates 106 vessels and 45 branch offices spread throughout Indonesia, this will certainly make it easier for PELNI and AP Logistics to establish cooperation, especially in terms of transporting multi-commodity goods. Vice versa, cargo owned by PELNI will also be transported by air cargo owned by PT AP Logistik. This collaboration will certainly provide the best service for the people of Indonesia, "explained Yossianis.

PT PELNI as a company engaged in shipping and maritime logistics is ready to open up opportunities for cooperation with various parties in the development of the logistics business, including with AP Logistics. "Hopefully, the collaboration between PELNI and AP Logistik can facilitate the flow of logistics distribution throughout Indonesia, so that it can run effectively and efficiently through land, air and sea routes," he concluded.

PELNI as a State-Owned Enterprise engaged in sea transportation currently operates 26 passenger ships and stops at 76 ports and serves 1,058 segments.

In addition to passenger transportation, PELNI also serves 44 pioneer ship routes which are a means of accessibility for population mobility in disadvantaged, remote, outermost and border areas (3TP) where Pioneer Ships stop at 281 ports with a total of 3,695 segments. PELNI also operates 16 Rede Vessels. For logistics business services, PELNI currently operates 10 routes of the Sea Toll Road and one special route for livestock transportation.
